NB - Preschool Mindful Movement

Event Details

Mindful movement teaches us to slow down and become more aware of how our bodies move. It also teaches us that movement can be enjoyed through fun and creative ways. 

Bring your preschoolers to the library to stretch our minds while we stretch our bodies in a Mindful Movement class, led by Jenn Snider. Registration is not required, but will lead to a reminder message one day before the class.

Week 1: 
Catch a Wave - Grab your surfboards (exercise mats or beach towels)! This mindful movement class will teach participants how much fun it can be to try something new. Surf's up! 

Week 2: 
Under the Sea - In this mindful movement class, we will move our bodies like fish, crabs, and other ocean life.

Week 3:
Fun at the Beach - Playing in the sand and ocean is fun! What other ways can we have fun at the beach? Through movement and breath, we will pretend to be waves, birds, trees, and more.  

Week 4:
Sailing the Stormy Seas - This mindful movement class will focus on using breathing, balancing, and grounding exercises to get us through the storm. *Grounding and breathing exercises can be beneficial for learning how to self-soothe.

Week 5:
Movement and Canvas - During this class we will use mindful movement to create a beautiful picture of the sun setting over the water. Markers and canvases will be provided. *Children must be pre-registered to reserve a canvas for this activity. 

Week 6:
Treasure Island - All aboard! During this mindful movement class, we will set sail in hopes of finding lost treasure.
